In the epistle of James the scripture directs Christians to do good works AND to remain unspotted from the world (James 1:27). Refraining from the vices of this world is not an easy task when surrounded by the crowds of Sodom.
Is it possible that like Lot, we have become accustomed to the sinful pleasures of the world? Have we ceased to fight against the remorseless advances of Satan and have acclimated to the changing morals, entertainment, and dress of Gomorrah?
Would our own church forefathers (if somehow they could see us) even recognize the spiritual descendants of their hard labor and restorative work?
